Very little to talk about this Althing.
Reminder about the month of crown going on. Next week is Cultural (A&S) competitions. Following week is crown testing.
Discussed our new concept for level testing to incorporate garb requirements.
Previous business had been mentioned that we should move next month's Althing and Elections back a week. This request was removed due to Pumpkin Fest.
Upcoming Calendar:
3 October - Open A&S and Crown Cultural competitions
10 October - Crown Testing
17 October - Althing and Elections
24 October - Pumpkin Fest
31 October - Coronation
Reminder about the month of crown going on. Next week is Cultural (A&S) competitions. Following week is crown testing.
Discussed our new concept for level testing to incorporate garb requirements.
- Level 1 No change, loaner available
- Level 2 Players encouraged to have own garb, charged for the use of the loaner bag.
- Level 3 Players MUST have own garb to pass level test. (Still only basic garb required.)
- Level 4 Garb must cover torso and legs.
- Level 5 Garb must not display any modern appearing clothing except footware and medical/safety gear.
- Level 6 Same as level 5, except footware must be neutral colored and "flair" items must be worn (belt, pouch, hat, etc.)
- Look the Part: Level 6, plus safety gear (such as gloves, kneepads, etc.) must have medieval appearance
Doge Jondalar (Mike Myers, former king of Goldenvale) voiced his opposition to this. Stated that it skirted "changing the rulebook" and feared it would drive people away if they were denied playing their level because of garb.
He suggested that instead of making it a 'rule' we instead offer an incentive. Use the same level based standards but give them something more instead. Used the Phrase "Look the Park" which we are TOTALLY going to steal.
After discussion we came to agreement that players getting a trinket for meeting the level standards as set forth would be better.
