Hello good peeps of Goldenvale! So the title only allows for limited characters so before the proposal below, I wanted to take a moment and explain the point.
I would say just about every park in the Kingdom with just a couple of exceptions have one park day per week. For the purposes of officer attendance, things like A&S night and Fighter Practice do not count (rightfully so) for officer attendance. As it stands right now, the officers all have similar, but different requirements.
Champion and Monarch are the same with 4 weeks in a row they can miss or 12 weeks total.
Chancellor is also 4 weeks in a row or 8 weeks total.
Regent is 6 in a row or 12 total.
Besides kinda confusing to all have different times, it doesn't make much sense to allow any officer to miss literally half their reign. If an officer misses 11 park days that's almost 3 whole months of not having that officer present. What we're saying is, we're okay with officers being barely active.
Now I understand the point behind each time or at the very least the reasoning. Champion and Monarch are roughly the same level of "importance" and have the same requirements. Regent isn't as "necessary" to day to day operations and therefor has more leniency and Chancellor is easily the most important position and needs to be present as often as possible.
That being said, the reasoning, in my opinion doesn't justify the idea of us being cool with officers missing nearly 50% of their reign. As long as it's not all at once, we're cool.
The proposal:
Amend 2.2, 12 | 2.3, 7 | 2.5, 11 to read as follows:
Shall descend from the throne if he or she misses four weeks in a row or eight
weeks in total.
With this proposal I also propose we "grandfather" current officers who would suddenly be in violation e.g. if it passes and you've missed 8 weeks ALREADY, that you follow what it was when you originally ran.
With all of the positions uniform it gives the same message: Running for officer is taking a job and should be considered as such, each job as important as the last to be present for. Four weeks means you don't miss a month in a row, I think that's fair. 8 weeks is a third of a reign for nearly every park and also seems reasonable, way more reasonable than 50%. I don't think it's asking for much, when we ask those who run for office to be present for 2/3's of the reign.
