Here are the general rules i'll be using for my questing arc(s). They're an adaption to Wunjo's (Tyler Salvador-Twilight Peak) original rules, not something I have created by myself.
Note: Specific arcs may have these rules slightly altered, which will be announced.
Quest Participation Points
Everyone earns points after every quest they participate in, at a rate of one-half (1/2) as a player character, and one (1) for playing a monster. These spent to use new weapons, artifacts, and other relics in a quest. These points are only temporarily spent, and come back after the quest. Ie, if player A has 5 points, and spends three points on a special relic for that quest, they have an additional 2 points they can spend for that quest (5 – 3). After the quest, player A will have a total of six points to spend on the next quest (5 + 1).
Artifact Appraisal/Discovery
Artifacts/special weapons/quest-based relics(these words are interchangeable) can be found throughout quests. These items are not soulbound, but cannot be taken from a dead player by a monster. As long as a PC has the item on them when the quest ends, it will be unlocked for the group to use. No other rewards are granted, unless otherwise noted. (Some items may grant immediate bonuses upon pickup, etc.)
As artifacts and relics are recovered by players, their usefulness and restrictions may not be initially clear. Special non-player characters may be able to appraise these items, others may be revealed through their use during a quest, where as others may only be 'unlocked' once a set amount of points have been spent on them.
Looting
Unless items are otherwise noted, any and all items are lootable off of a corpse upon death. If a quest participant (monster, PC, NPC) has lootable items on them, they must remain within the area of where they died, and start their death count. Items are able to be looted by any appropriate denotation of “searching”, “looting”, etc. until their death count is over, in which the participant may move to a reasonable respawn location.
Some items may only drop in certain amounts each life. For example, Monster A may have four lives and four of an item, but only drop one each life. However, if monster A were to kill or otherwise obtain another of that item, both the picked up amount, as well as their per life amount, could be looted upon death.
Special Item Properties
Soulbound: The item is bound to the participant, and cannot be looted, stolen, etc.
Unique:
Only one version of this item may be held by a participant at any given time.
