Althing Minutes
MONARCH- Nexus Crow
1) Discussed the $200 requested of the Kingdom for Amtgard.com optimization, and whether or not to pass this cost on to our other parks as well. The discussion included whether or not to use surplus from prior events, possibly a small surcharge to future events, possibly running a Dollar Tourney, etc as other ways to fundraise for this. The Vote came down to 6 in favor of having subgroups pay portions of it, and 6 in favor of Goldenvale paying it this time, with further discussions of how to fund it in the future, left to the future. Tied vote broken by Monarch to have Goldenvale pay the bill this time, with future options open.
2) Discussed reattempting a Kingdomwide vote for the office of Prime Minister. Since this office has been held at Goldenvale Proper, the question was asked if groups who do not come to GVP should be able to vote considering that they will may not actually know the people running against each other, aside from online reputations. The counter argument to this was that since the Prime Minister does possibly interact with all groups for ORK and other records, that they should be allowed a vote. A further thought was that if outlying groups could vote in GVP's elections, shouldn't GVP be able to vote in their elections. At the vote to retry the Kingdomwide vote for Prime Minister, 8 in favor, 2 opposed, 2 abstained, 1 In favor with the stipulation of being able to vote in their elections. Motion passed.
3) Midreign Feast was briefly discussed in terms of budget, prior years have each had budgets of $400, yet came in under budget by varying amounts. Lacking specific requests for a budget for this midreign, the issue was TABLED until next month to allow a more full request to be presented.
4) To allow for a more mobile presence at outlying groups, the idea was brought forward to amend the corpora to allow Monarch/Regent/Prime Minister/Champion to be able to take credits at other groups under the umbrella of Goldenvale, without counting against absences from the GVP park, which could jeopardize their standing. The full text of this will be posted for review, with an individual vote on each Office, as to whether or not to allow them to be traveling.
5) Concerning the suspension of Tim Grabowski aka Redav Von Kirathelle, of the Kingdom of the Crystal Grove. The issue came to attention when it was stated that this player may try to attend the Goldenvale field of The Bitter Coast. After research completed by Nexus Crow, it was discussed that several of the complaints cited were in fact issues resolved prior, which were no longer relevant. The vote was whether to uphold the suspension across Goldenvale lands, or to rescind the suspension, and allow The Bitter Coast to handle the issue at their field as they see fit. (One idea mentioned as a point of thought was if they allowed him to play, possibly to discourage or disallow running for office. This thought was not part of the official vote.) 3 in favor of upholding the suspension, 9 to rescind, allowing Bitter Coast, and other parks, to make their own decision regarding the player in question.
