One of the issues that is being discussed is what parks should make up the "crown lands" for a floating crown. Below is an excerpt of a discussion on Facebook that occured between myself and Kyle.
Fredrik: I have been trying to get the NY groups included in the "crown lands" area, but people seem to be against the idea for a variety of reasons. Personally I don't think it's going to happen. So you'll still have to be in "New England" to run. The next step is to start Jonny Appleseeding Amtgard parks. I see no reason why we can't have parks in Vermont, and I think Keen NH and Manchester might be good locations as well. We have a decent contingint from Mass as well so maybe something in the West Boston Metro area could spring up. Of course this might mean the death of Nashua since some of our core members are from these areas.
Kyle Shaub Keep it in New England, and you'll have the same problems as now. The only difference is that you might get a Boreal Daler or two to run.
David Graves Preaching to the choir on that Kyle. Then again maybe the others will read this.
Kyle Shaub There's not enough park support in New England to justify roaming crown otherwise.
David Graves That is true now. Thus the park planting effort I suggested. I'm thinking of spear heading the Keene effort myself. It's a college town and about the same distance as Nashua is from my home. And I'd rather see a FC in NE than see us continue the way we have been. We can grow NE into what it needs to be that way.
Kyle Shaub That is what is going to have to happen in order to swing it. Without a greater number of parks, you won't have the player base necessary to justify swapping out ruling monarchs. You may as well just end up keeping the crown in Nashua. However, even if you start up new parks, it'll take a few years to get them seasoned enough to count for serious crown contention.
